Lent is not simply about giving up things or praying more or being more charitable. Lent is the opportunity to become a more Christ-like person. What we give up for Lent is not as important as what positive difference giving up something makes in our lives and in the lives of those around us. The same is true for prayer and almsgiving in Lent and in every other time of year.
Use this Lent to grow in Christ. The joy of experiencing Christ in His Resurrection at Easter will grow for you as well. God bless!
